George Mason Receives $5M for Center for the Arts

George Mason University obtained a $5 million present from the Peterson Family Foundation to assist modernize its Center for the Arts.

The Fairfax college stated the present, introduced on the dwelling of Jon and Carolyn Peterson, will help the modernization of the humanities heart inbuilt 1990. The live performance corridor auditorium will probably be renamed.

“The Peterson Family has stood behind a lot of our success in constructing an distinctive group of artists — college students, school, and distinguished visiting professionals — at George Mason,” George Mason President Gregory Washington stated, in an announcement.

“This newest expression of visionary generosity makes attainable a much-needed reimagination of our beloved Concert Hall, magnifying George Mason University’s standing because the creative and cultural hub of Northern Virginia.”

Carolyn Peterson is understood for her love of the humanities.

“This present is critical as a result of we all know it would present our glorious college students, world-class visiting artists, and the group of artwork lovers with a stellar Center for the Arts auditorium through which to share and expertise the humanities. We are honored to assist transfer this initiative ahead,” Carolyn Peterson stated.

The Peterson Foundation’s present comes a little bit over two years after a $10 million present to rename the Center for the Arts. That present was from Barry Dewberry and Arlene Evans.
