Woodbridge pupil reportedly discovered with weapon on college grounds



WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A teen is dealing with fees after allegedly bringing a weapon to a Woodbridge highschool Monday morning.

The 16-year-old pupil was discovered with steel knuckles at Freedom High School and charged with possession of a weapon on college grounds, in response to an announcement from the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD).

A School Resource Officer (SRO) was notified of the incident at 7:30 a.m. and located no risk to college students, school or employees, in response to the PWCPD. The Woodbridge pupil was arrested, and the courtroom date is pending in juvenile courtroom. 

According to the Code of Virginia 18.2-308.1, possession of a firearm, stun weapon or different weapon on college property is a Class 1 misdemeanor.
